Accomplishments
Austin McMullen’s service on the Oak Hill Board of Commissioners is characterized by his vision of a greater Oak Hill, combined with his hard-work to make this vision a reality. The citizens of Oak Hill elected Austin to the Board of Commissioners in 2008, and his fellow Commissioners elected him to the office of Vice-Mayor at that time.
In 2010, Austin was elected Mayor, and he has helped lead the City in a new direction since that time. His vision for Oak Hill is summarized in the City’s strategic plan and mission statement adopted shortly after Austin became Mayor – “The mission of the City of Oak Hill is to preserve its natural resources and residential environment; to offer an enhanced level of services to its citizens; and to provide a strong sense of community pride with historic awareness all within close proximity to a world class metropolitan area.”
